The Learning Hub can display recommended courses to help learners discover relevant content and continue their learning journey.
Course recommendations are controlled by the Learning Hub Recommendation feature, which is enabled at the tenant and branch level. This feature is managed by BenchPrep and cannot be enabled directly by administrators.
If you would like to enable Learning Hub recommendations for your tenant, please reach out to the support team or your Customer Success Manager.
Tag-Based Recommendations
If you use tags to categorize content, the system can generate recommendations based on content similarity. Learn more about tags click here.
The recommendation process works as follows:
- The system identifies the learner’s most recently active course.
- It reviews the tags associated with that course.
- Those tags are compared against other available courses in Learning Hub.
- Courses with similar tags will be recommended to the learner.
For a course to be eligible for recommendation, the course must:
- Be published
- Not already be enrolled in by the learner
Learners can discover relevant courses and continue learning on topics related to their recent activity and click View Details on a recommended course to see additional information.
Learning Path Recommendations
Learning Path recommendations suggest courses based on a learner’s activity and progress within a learning path.
To receive this type of recommendation, the learner must be enrolled in a learning path. To learn more about Learning Paths click here.
The system considers factors such as:
- Learning paths the learner is currently enrolled in.
- Recent progress within courses.
Based on these signals, the system recommends a course that is next in the path to ensure continued progress.
Learners can click View Details on a recommended course to see additional information about the course before enrolling.
Recommendation Priority
If both tag-based recommendations and learning path recommendations are available, the system will prioritize recommendations in the following order:
- Tag-based recommendations
- Learning path recommendations
If a tag-based recommendation is found, it will appear in the Learning Hub first. If no tag-based recommendation is available, the system will then surface a learning path recommendation.
