Introduction to the Game Center

The Game Center is a section in the learner platform where users can demonstrate their knowledge as well as acquire further knowledge.

  • Our platform offers 7 games that enhance memory retention and encourage users to spend more time studying.

  • Core Games include: Card Picker, Card Hunter I, Card Hunter II, Card Coupler, Card Sweeper, Additional Games: Crossword Puzzle, and Sudden Death.

  • Six of these games are based exclusively on flashcard content, and one uses practice questions (Sudden Death). You can match flashcard terms to the correct definition and earn a high score compared to all other users in the course. We recommend that you have at least 20 flashcards in your course so that the games remain fresh, exciting, and randomized (the Card Picker game requires 20 flashcards minimum).

Turning Games in the Game Center On/Off

Games in the Game Center are turned on by default at the course-level. These include Card Coupler, Card Hunter I, Card Hunter II, Card Picker, and Card Sweeper. However, Crossword Puzzle and Sudden Death are on at the course-level and off at the tenant-level by default. All games can be toggled on/off from either Console or BluePrint's course configuration. To do so, follow these steps:

Console

  1. Under the Learning tab, click on Content Packages.
  2. Click on the course you'd like to configure. You can use the search bar and filters at the top to find your course.
  3. Under the Configuration tab, scroll down to the Features section.
  4. Toggle the game(s) you'd like to turn on/off.

Note: The games Crossword Puzzle and Sudden Death will also need to be turned on at the tenant-level to be available for learners. To turn features on/off at the tenant-level, check out our article here.

BluePrint

  1. Navigate to the course you'd like to configure.

  2. Under Course Details, click on Configuration.

  3. Use the search bar to find a specific game, or use the Feature Family filter and select Game Center to search for all games. Click on Apply.

  4. Toggle the game(s) you'd like to turn on/off. Your selections will save and go into effect automatically - there is no need to publish changes to the course.

Note: The games Crossword Puzzle and Sudden Death will also need to be turned on at the tenant-level to be available for learners. To turn features on/off at the tenant-level, check out our article here.
