Localization Overview

Localization is the adaptation of software to serve varying audiences in different regions or languages by translating the user interface.

BenchPrep provides localization as an add-on feature, allowing you to offer your platform to learners in the language of their choice. To get started, reach out to your BenchPrep contact and ask about turning on the feature.

Currently, BenchPrep’s localization feature supports the following languages:

  • English
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • French (France)
  • German
  • Indonesian (Bahasa)
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Spanish (Latin America)
  • Spanish (Spain / Castilian)
  • Portuguese (Brazil)

User Interface Localization

BenchPrep has already taken care of platform-level localization, meaning we’ve already translated all platform elements in the learning application and Learning Hub into the languages listed above. Some notable platform elements are:

  • Navigation words and phrases like “Study Plan,” “Flashcards,” “Game Center,” etc.
  • Date & Time formatting
  • Discussions & Feedback text editors
  • Milestones
  • Login & Password Reset pages
  • Side by Side questions
  • Server error messages
  • Notes & Bookmarks

Content Localization

Content localization is the ability for learners to view content in the language of their choosing.

You can use BluePrint to import content in any of the above languages to deliver localized courses in tandem with the localized platform. For a deeper dive on content localization, including best practices for content translation, visit our "Content Localization" article here.
