Highlighting relevant passage portions to questions in BluePrint can be a daunting task, but can create a powerful structure to guide students/learners through a set of information in a constructive manner.
To begin, you’ll want to create “reference links” in your passage. These links will provide you information to help with your question prompts.
When inside a passage, highlight the portion of the passage you’d like to create a link to. Once highlighted, navigate to the “templates’ heading and select reading passage reference from the drop-down. When selected, this will create a link inside of BluePrint for you to reference.
Similar to linking a passage, be sure to remember your passage ID to ensure you’re linking the right passage to the next question.
Similar to linking a passage, be sure to remember your passage ID or the name of the passage to ensure you’re linking the right passage to the next question.
Next, you’ll head to the question you want to apply your link to that particular question. Enter your passage ID or passage name into the Passage drop-down menu. The passage should populate below. Similar to the passages tab, those portions with links will show as a blue highlight. To link the portion to the question, select the highlight. You’ll see your passage portion turn yellow and some code populate under Highlight Selector.
Enter in your Question Content and Answer Content as needed for the question to ensure your student/learner has all information they need to answer. If you’ve configured this properly, your passage should appear above the question content with your reference link highlighted in the passage.
