- What is BenchPrep's Premium Content functionality?
BenchPrep's Premium Content feature enhances learner experiences by enabling limited course trials and offering in-course purchases for extra content. This makes it easier to upsell content on a more detailed level.
- How can learners identify locked content?
Learners will easily identify locked content by a lock icon. Clicking on the locked item will open a pop-up modal with further details.
- What are the prerequisites for activating Premium Content?
All customers can use our Premium Content feature, however, it is best utilized by customers with an established SSO integration (SAML or OIDC) or those that use GraphQL. Check out the Considerations section in our article here for more details.
- What types of content can be configured as Premium Content?
The following content types can be configured as Premium Content:- Lessons
- Flashcard Categories
- Question Categories
- Tests
- External Assets
- Events
- What steps are involved in unlocking Premium Content?
Premium Content can be unlocked by a learner within their course in the Learning Platform or by an admin or user with the correct permissions in Console. Check out our article here for more information.
- Is Premium Content included in course progress calculation?
Premium content can be included in course progress calculations, but it depends on the course type and whether the content is unlocked:
Courses with a Study Plan:
Progress is calculated only from the content a learner has access to. If premium content is locked, it is excluded from the Study Plan and progress calculation — allowing learners to reach 100% completion without it. If the premium content is unlocked, it is added to the Study Plan and counts toward the learner’s progress, achievements, and knowledge points.
Courses without a Study Plan:
Progress is calculated based on all available content the learner can access in the course. Locked premium content is excluded until it is unlocked, at which point it will count toward the completion percentage.
- Will locked Premium Content remain accessible after it is unlocked?
Once Premium Content is unlocked, it will remain available to learners until their course expires. If a learner renews or repurchases the course, they will retain access to the previously purchased Premium Content.
- Can access to Premium Content be restricted after a certain period?
If you have an SSO integration, you may be able to restrict access for learners after a certain period of time.
- Is it necessary to test the Premium Content experience?
After setting up your Premium Content, we highly recommend testing it out first to make sure learners are able to unlock your content and ensure a smooth user experience.
