  • What is BenchPrep's Premium Content functionality?
    BenchPrep's Premium Content feature enhances learner experiences by enabling limited course trials and offering in-course purchases for extra content. This makes it easier to upsell content on a more detailed level.

 

  • How can learners identify locked content?
    Learners will easily identify locked content by a lock icon. Clicking on the locked item will open a pop-up modal with further details.

 

  • What are the prerequisites for activating Premium Content?
    To utilize Premium Content, customers must have an established SAML or OIDC SSO integration. Additionally, Premium Content can be implemented in new courses or by adding new content to existing courses.

 

  • What types of content can be configured as Premium Content?
    The following content types can be configured as Premium Content:
    • Lessons
    • Practice Questions Categories
    • Test Questions
    • External Assets/Skillable Labs
    • Note: Premium Content is not compatible with the Custom Practice Experience.

 

  • What steps are involved in unlocking Premium Content?
    To unlock Premium Content, learners should:
    1. Identify locked content indicated by a lock icon.
    2. Click on the locked item to open the pop-up modal.
    3. Review the pop-up message and complete the specified unlock criteria (usually involving navigating to an external URL for a transaction).
    4. Log back into their account via SSO to confirm that the content is now accessible.

 

  • What information needs to be provided to BenchPrep to set up Premium Content?
    You will need to identify the courses and content to be designated as Premium, the unlock criteria, the IDs of any locked content, the unlock criteria text for the pop-up modal, and the URL for learners to fulfill the unlock criteria.

 

  • Is Premium Content included in course progress calculation?
    Yes, Premium Content can be included in your course progress calculation, but is dependant on course setup. If the premium content is part of the Study Plan, it contributes to your progress. If it’s not in the Study Plan, it won’t count. In courses without a Study Plan, all content, including premium, is factored into the progress percentage.

 

  • Will locked Premium Content remain accessible after it is unlocked?
    Once Premium Content is unlocked, it will remain available to learners until their course expires. If a learner renews or repurchases the course, they will retain access to the previously purchased Premium Content.

 

  • Can access to Premium Content be restricted after a certain period?
    Depending on your SSO integration, you may be able to restrict access for learners after a certain period of time.

 

  • Is it necessary to test the Premium Content experience?
    Yes, testing the Premium Content experience with the SSO integration is highly recommended to ensure a smooth user experience.
