NOTE: The Assignment Feature has been renamed to Graded Submissions. Please be aware that some terminology, labels, and screenshots throughout the document may still reference the previous name, submission. We are in the process of updating all related content to reflect the new terminology. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

The Graded Submission Feature enables learners to create and submit longform responses to a provided question or prompt or the learner can upload a file.  Depending on submission configuration learners can self-grade a submission obtain a final score or feedback on their submission from a user with submission grading permissions. This means that you or someone from your team will grade learners submissions. BenchPrep does not offer grading services.

BluePrint functionality supports the custom grading roles created in Console.
To learn how to create a custom role click here. A user with a custom Console grading role will have the ability to claim submissions, provide feedback, and submit a final score to students. To learn what permissions are required to grade submissions click here.

  • Submitting an graded submission to a grader sends the submission to a human user with an applicable custom role that enables them to use grading tools in BluePrint to evaluate and grade the submission.
  • Submitting the graded submission for feedback is similar to sending a first draft to an editor. If a learner submits an submission for feedback, the grader does not need to provide scores, but should provide commentary to help the user flesh out their submission. After feedback is provided, a learner has the option to submit the submission again, either for feedback or for a grade. Submitting an submission for a grade means that the grader must provide a score, and the user will not be able to resubmit the submission afterwards - this is their final draft.
