Adding Asset/Interaction Content in Blueprint

You can add assets to any course in BluePrint via the Assets section. If you are just starting with your first course and do not have a lot of experience with different file types, we recommend you upload PDFs, Audio/Video, and URLs (if applicable). These will be the easiest and most streamlined. 

 

If you choose to upload assets, depending on the type of asset you choose to upload (not import), you will be presented with additional options for Naming, Settings, and Learner View.  Review the information below to help you understand each of these options and how the display differs from one another:

 

AICC

General - Enter the title of the Asset. Note: The filename will be used as the title if no title is entered.

Upload - Upload a zipped package published as AICC

 

Learner’s View:

Asset Display (Choose one of the following three options)

  • New Window - For best compatibility, the content will launch in a separate window.

    • Remove The Browser Toolbar From The Popup Window (check this box if you want the toolbar to removed from the pop up window)

    • Require An Extra Click To Avoid Popup Blocker Restrictions (check this box if you want to reduce the amount of clicks)

  • Frameset - The content will open within the browser tab.

  • Embed In A Lesson - Embedded Assets Will Not Display In Interaction Tabs. Choose this option if you want the asset to appear in a specific lesson.

 

Data Points To Display

These selections determine what data the learner sees if there is any data for them to see.

Please make sure the asset itself is configured to report the data you wish to display. You can choose more than one. 

  • State 

  • % Correct

  • Status

  • Date Completed

 

LTI 1.1

General - Enter the title of the Asset. Note: The filename will be used as the title if no title is entered.

LTI Data - You can get this information from your LTI Tool provider

  • Consumer Key

  • * Shared Secret

  • * Url

PDF

General - Enter the title of the Asset. Note: The filename will be used as the title if no title is entered.

Upload - File must be a .pdf and not protected

  • Media Content Completion Threshold - Enter the percentage of media that must be consumed before a media course can be considered 'Complete'.

  • Pdf Content Page Duration Threshold - Enter the number of seconds the user must view a document page before the page will be counted towards progress/completion calculation.

Asset Completion

  • Show Completion Status (Complete, Not Started)

  • Show Date Completed

 

Video and Audio

Display Location - Select one of the following options for Where in Ascend/Engage would you like this to display?

  •  Interactions Tab (Trackable) 

  •  Save For Embedding In Other Content

General - Enter the title of the Asset. Note: The filename will be used as the title if no title is entered.

Upload - Majority of files are supported. Files are converted using Zencoder.

  • Media Content Completion Threshold - Enter the percentage of media that must be consumed before a media course can be considered 'Complete'.
