Free Response

For questions that require a text answer but should allow learners to have more freedom with their responses, you can use the Free Response question type within BluePrint. Free response questions allow for learners to type in their answers and is meant for responses longer than a word or phase. An example would be to provide a summary or analysis of a passage that was read. There is also no validation component, so instead of marking answers as correct or incorrect, answers will be displayed as "Completed" to the learner.

This question type is similar to the Text Entry question type. However, text entry questions require a correct answer and will be marked appropriately according to the learner's answer. For more information about this type, click here. While free response questions won't provide the same immediate feedback, you can still include an answer explanation of what would be considered correct so that learners can compare their responses to your explanation.

NOTE: Free Response type questions are not supported in Side by Side courses.
