How to Import Study Tasks & Study Task Groups

Study Task Import Instructions

  1. First, navigate to Study Tasks in BluePrint.
    1. In the text field, type in the number 1 then press enter.
    2. Select Save in the bottom right.
  2. Next, export all content IDs that will be organized into a study task.
    1. For Lessons:
      1. Navigate to Lessons page.
      2. Select wheel in top right corner and then click on “Export to CSV”.
      3. Select Export again.
      4. Check the Activity Log - when the export reads successful, click on the eye to locate the csv.
    2. For Flashcards or Practice Questions:
      1. Follow the same steps as Lessons.
    3. View Study Task Import Template.
      1. Use a spreadsheet with the all column headers under “Breakdown of Spreadsheet”. The order of column headers must match the order below. Include them all even if you will not be inputting information under every header.
    4. Follow information under “Breakdown” to add values.
    5. Export spreadsheet as CSV UTF-8.
    6. To import:
      1. In BluePrint, go to Other Tools. Select “Import content”.
      2. Under Study Tasks, upload your Study Tasks CSV.
      3. Select “Import Content” at the bottom of the page.
      4. Navigate to the Activity Log to see when your import is complete. It will read “successful” when complete. 
        1. You should be able to see all imported content within Study Tasks on the left-hand nav. They will appear under a Parent Study Task “1”.

Breakdown of Spreadsheet

Information on how to include content in each column (* = value required). View alongside Import Template: 

  1. name*
    1. What: the name of the Study Task
    2. This will appear to an end user
  2. parent_study_task_name
    1. Input: the number “1”
  3. task_item_type*
    1. Input:
      1. lessons
      2. flash_cards
      3. practice_questions
  4. task_item_category_id
    1. Leave blank
  5. task_item_ids*
    1. Input: IDs of lessons, flashcards, or practice questions that belong within the study task; must be separated by commas 
    2. This is where exporting CSVs of lessons, flashcards, and practice question ids comes in handy (see step 2 in Instructions). 
      1. Consider using TEXTJOIN formula (PC Excel 2016+ or Google Sheets) to compile the IDs. 
      2. If concatenating practice question IDs, be sure to exclude test questions.
      3. Include list of comma-separated IDs in their appropriate cell on the CSV for import. 

Study Task Group Import Instructions 

  1. Navigate to Study Tasks​ on BluePrint again.
    1. Export CSV from Study Task page on BluePrint. You will need the IDs for this next CSV import.
  2. View Study Task Group Import.
    1. Use a spreadsheet with all column headers under “Breakdown of Spreadsheet”. The order of column headers must match the order below. Include only these headers.
  3. Follow information under “Breakdown” to add values.
  4. Export to CSV UTF-8.
  5. Email BenchPrep with CSV for import, as there is no Import tool on BluePrint for these.

  1. name*
    1. What: name of Study Task Group
    2. This will appear to an end user
  2. study_task_ids*
    1. What: semicolon-​separated list of study task IDs
    2. Include all study task IDs for the appropriate study task group.
      1. Separate by semicolons.​
      2. Organize study task IDs in order.
      3. Consider using TEXTJOIN formula (PC Excel 2016+ or Google Sheets) 

NOTE:​ For Study Task import, you must supply individual content IDs (lessons, flashcards, and practice questions). For Study Task Group import, you must supply study task IDs.
