Creating a Banner Message
- Open the Boost Dashboard and use the left-hand navigation menu to go to the Message Center section.
- Select the Create Banner Message link in the upper right-hand corner.
- On the next page, enter your desired message in the Banner Message field. Use the menu to add formatting to your text, if desired. Any formatting options not shown here are not available for banner messages.
- Select the Dates Active field to bring up a calendar widget. Indicate when this message should start appearing for students and when the message should expire.
- Use the Group drop-down menu to select who should receive this message. You may select all groups, or a specific group. If you have a message to send to multiple (but not all) groups, create a separate banner message for each group.
- Select the Preview button at the top of the page to see how the message will appear to recipients. If you’re satisfied, select Post to send the message.
- If the start time for your message is in the future, the message will appear at that time.

Creating an In-App Message
- Open the Boost Dashboard and use the left-hand navigation menu to go to the Message Center section.
- Select the Create In-App Message link in the upper right-hand corner.
- On the next page, enter a title for the message. This operates as the message’s subject line.
- Enter your desired message in the Message field. There is no character limit in this field. Use the menu to add formatting to the message, if desired. Any formatting options not shown here are not available for in-app messages.
- Under the Recipients heading, check the box next to the name of each student who should receive this message. Use the search box or group filter to find specific users quickly.
- Select the Send button at the top of the page to send this message immediately.
Editing Messages
You can edit active banner messages, even if users have already viewed them. In-app messages are not editable once sent.
To edit a banner message, follow the steps below:
- Open the Boost Dashboard and use the left-hand navigation menu to go to the Message Center section.
- Select the banner message you’d like to work with.
- On the message details page, select the Edit button.
- On the next page, you can change the content of the message, update the dates active, and/or update which group(s) receive the message. Select the Post button when you’re done editing the message.
Deleting Messages
You can delete active banner messages, even if users have already viewed them. In-app messages cannot be deleted once sent.
To delete a banner message, follow the steps below:
- Open the Boost Dashboard and use the left-hand navigation menu to go to the Message Center section.
- Select the banner message you’d like to work with.
- On the message details page, select the Delete button.
